Blue Tansy is ganning interest and likability for many good reasons. This special flower is growing in popularity, but what is it, what is it good for, and who can benefit from using it? Blue tansy belongs to the Asteraceae family of plants, which also includes chamomile, marigolds, and sunflowers. It's also sometimes called Moroccan Blue Chamomile because of its relation to Chamomile and origin.

What is Blue Tansy?
Blue Tansy is a is a mediterranean plant with the latin name Tanacetum Annuum L. Blue Tansy is a flowering plant that was originally wild-harvested in the Mediterranean Basin, and is now widely cultivated in Morocco. One of its well known features is the vibrant blue essential oil that is the result of steam distilling the golden, yellow flowers. Another known feature of this herbaceous plant is the sweet, complex, fruity, and floral aroma with honey-sweet undertones. Blue Tansy's scent is often discribed as sweet, and slightly floral.

What is Blue Tansy essential oil good for?

Chamazulene is known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-allergy properties, and is used in herbal remedies and cosmetics. Chamazulene is extracted from the Blue Tansy flower creating a deep blue oil. It is formed when matricine, in the yellow flowers, breaks down during steam distillation. Chamazulene is a natural anti-inflammatory agent that is beneficial to cells.
